The Silverton Owls had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They took down Southcrest Christian 54-38. That's another feather in the cap for Silverton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Silverton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brenna Francis, who scored 16 points. Maddie Francis was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Silverton pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for Southcrest Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silverton will take on Groom at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Southcrest Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Christ the King Cathedral at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Christ the King Cathedral will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1290th, while Southcrest Christian is ranked 552nd).
