Jackson Mathews was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 216 yards and three scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also caught one TD. Those 216 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Andre Daniels III was another key rusher, rushing for 103 yards on only 14 carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Reno was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 350 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palo Verde only rushed for 76 rushing yards.

X'Zavier McZeal and Darrek Walker certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. McZeal picked up 90 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Walker rushed for 68 yards. McZeal's longest reception was for an incredible 83 yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Leo Templeton, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Palo Verde is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
Reno has already played their next contest, a 35-20 win against Foothill on the 29th. As for Palo Verde, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Green Valley at 6:00 p.m. on the 5th.
