Marbury has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Autaugaville Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Marbury focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
Marbury pushed their score all the way to 58, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-58 to Benjamin Russell.
Despite their loss, Marbury saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. DJ Graham, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Jamar Brown was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Autaugaville had to settle for a 43-41 loss against Dallas County on Tuesday. Autaugaville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Pike Road's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Marbury's loss dropped theirs to 0-4.
Marbury lost to Autaugaville on the road by a decisive 54-37 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Marbury avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
