The ED White Commanders lost against the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. ED White took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Augustine. While losing is never fun, ED White can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while St. Augustine is ranked 71st).
When it comes to explaining why ED White lost, one person who can't be blamed is Falisa White. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. White is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Leandrea McCloud, who scored six points along with 13 rebounds and four blocks.
ED White dropped their record down to 10-10 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for St. Augustine, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. ED White won't have much time to rest: their next match is against North Florida Educational Institute at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. North Florida Educational Institute is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games. As for St. Augustine, they will head out on the road to challenge Palatka at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
