Mission Trail (8 Man) recap Sept. 26, 2012
Trayvon Hicks of Stuart Hall ran for the longest rushing play in Mission Trail (8 Man) this season against Trinity Christian last week. Hicks scampered for 75 yards on the play and finished with 358 on the day as his team topped the Warriors.
Joshua Cayetano and Gabe Bautista provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Woodside Priory. The connection went for 66 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
Trinity Christian's dynamic duo of Andrew Ducusin and Dre Perez proved tough for Stuart Hall to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Ducusin threw for 211 yards and four touchdowns and Perez had 138 yards receiving. Matt Novak helped Trinity Christian's passing attack out by catching six balls for 73 yards.
Greg Lim made the biggest impact on defense this week as Alma Heights Christian fell to the Panthers. The 6-foot-1 junior grabbed two sacks.
Harold Lusk's team's Ducusin and Perez have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Ducusin has thrown for 819 yards this season, while Perez has 26 catches for 552 yards. Hicks from Richard Robinson's team leads the league in rushing with 604 yards.
A big matchup in Mission Trail (8 Man) this week will be when Anzar takes on the Knights. The Hawks are currently in fifth, while Stuart Hall is in third.
Pinewood was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. Earlier in the week, the Panthers defeated El Sobrante Christian 54-0.
