The Sparta Spartans's four-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They took down Tomah 59-41. The win was just what Sparta needed coming off of a 89-37 loss in their prior game.
Sparta's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elexa Jones, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Tripp, who scored 15 points.
Sparta's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Tomah, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sparta will square off against Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tomah, they will head out on the road to face off against Mauston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
