The Abingdon Falcons waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 57-47 victory over Tennessee. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Abingdon also won the last time the pair played on January 3rd.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Addie Wilhoit, who scored 20 points. Keeyanah Foote was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Abingdon's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. As for Tennessee, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-8.
Abingdon will head out on the road to take on Gate City at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Gate City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Abingdon is ranked 37th). As for Tennessee, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Sullivan East at 6:30 p.m.
