West Franklin is 8-0 against Marais des Cygnes Valley since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The West Franklin Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Marais des Cygnes Valley Trojans. Hopefully West Franklin is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Kansas (they are ranked 95th, while Marais des Cygnes Valley is ranked 345th).
After a string of six wins, West Franklin's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by Wellsville 86-38. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points West Franklin has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Marais des Cygnes Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They fell 52-39 to Chase County.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Landon Traver, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dominic Knight, who scored seven points.
West Franklin's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3. As for Marais des Cygnes Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for West Franklin against Marais des Cygnes Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 56-22 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Franklin since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
