It was a good run, but the Basic Wolves unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 59-51 to Del Sol. Basic was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Basic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natasha Harrison, who scored 16 points along with five steals. Harrison has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tatum Meatoga-Ubiam, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Del Sol to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ricana Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Chanel King was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with seven steals.
Basic's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Del Sol, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Basic will face off against the Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Canyon Springs will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Del Sol, they will head out on the road to square off against the Rattlers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mojave has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15.
