On Friday Port Townsend take on Vashon Island at 7:00 PM. Coming off of a win even when the odds were against them, Port Townsend have to be feeling especially confident with the MaxPreps state rankings on their side for this one.
After a disappointing 0 points in the match before, Port Townsend made sure to put some points up on the board against Charles Wright last Friday. Port Townsend were able to grind out a solid win over Charles Wright, winning 36-27. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (30) and coasted on those for the victory.
Meanwhile, Vashon Island found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 6-27 punch to the gut against Bellevue Christian. Vashon Island were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-20.
Port Townsend's victory lifted them to 1-3 while Vashon Island's loss dropped them down to 0-4. In their victory, Port Townsend relied heavily on freshman Jerome Reaux Jr., who rushed for 144 yards and 1 touchdown. Vashon Island will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
