Pendleton County is 10-0 against Union since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Pendleton County Wildcat will head out on the road to square off against the Union Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Union took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Pendleton County, who comes in off a win.
Pendleton County can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 71-43 win over Paw Paw at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-15.
Meanwhile, Union pushed their score all the way to 56 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 63-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Turkeyfoot Valley Area. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (55), Union still had to take the loss.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Braylon Ward, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. Jacob Wolfe was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Pendleton County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Union, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.
Everything came up roses for Pendleton County against Union in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 70-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pendleton County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
