The Monroe Hornets pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fairborn.
Fairborn was led to victory by Taiyou Williams and William Perry. Williams scored 17 points along with nine rebounds, while Perry scored 21 points along with five assists. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadon Larson, who scored ten points.
Monroe's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-6. As for Fairborn, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monroe will take on Ross at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Fairborn, they will be playing at home against Troy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Troy is ranked 487th, while Fairborn is ranked 486th).
