Baseball Recap: Central Has No Trouble Against Crystal Lake Central

Central won the last time they faced Crystal Lake Central and things went their way on Monday too. The Rockets were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rockets.

Daniel Koertgen looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Central got a big performance out of David Hintz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Hintz has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Central's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Crystal Lake Central, they now have a losing record of 8-9-1.

Coming up, Central will square off against Crystal Lake South at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crystal Lake Central will be paying especially close attention to the Rockets' game: after the Rockets face off against the Gators, they'll take on Crystal Lake Central again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
