If the Oasis Christian Lions were riding high off their 43-7 takedown of the All Saints' Academy Saints last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Oasis Christian took a 32-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Auburndale on Friday.
Despite the defeat, Oasis Christian saw an underclassman step up: Karsyn Roberts scored nine points along with nine rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Roberts pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Niyhana Tolbert, who scored four points along with six steals.
Oasis Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Auburndale, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.
Oasis Christian and Ridgeview Global Studies Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Auburndale, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Jordan Christian Prep at 6:00 p.m. Jordan Christian Prep will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
