The Minneola Wildcats lost against the Moscow Wildcats back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Minneola was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 40-39 to the Wildcats.
Despite the loss, Minneola still got an impressive performance from Maiya Shelor, who scored 21 points. That was a full 53.8% of Minneola's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braegen Shelor, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Minneola's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Moscow, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Minneola will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ingalls presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Wildcats in Kansas (the Bulldogs are ranked 90th, while the Wildcats are ranked 244th). As for Moscow, they will head out on the road to challenge the Indians on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Satanta: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while the Wildcats have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
