Resurrection is a perfect 3-0 against Northside since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Bandits will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Resurrection has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Resurrection fell victim to Providence Catholic and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 11-0 to the Celtics. The defeat continues a trend for the Bandits in their meetings with the Celtics: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Northside came into Wednesday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Payton College Prep 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since April 3, 2025.
Ella Breving made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Breving was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Yailyn Medina was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Dania Gomez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Northside's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Resurrection, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Resurrection hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Northside struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Resurrection got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Northside by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Bandits repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
