The Red Lion Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Dallastown Wildcats at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Red Lion put up the most runs they have all season on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand William Penn a 16-0 shutout. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Lions with their most commanding win of the season.
Caynin Mixon looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Connor Lawrence was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Morales, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Red Lion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Dallastown made easy work of Dover on Thursday and carried off a 13-3 win.
Alex McGurk tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Logan Kessler, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Dallastown is undefeated when Kessler posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Williams, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Dallastown is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Red Lion, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3-1.
Red Lion was able to grind out a solid victory over Dallastown in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
