On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madison Hatcher, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madalyn Morris, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, Auburn entered their tilt with Fort Chiswell on Monday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Pioneers a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 16 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to McKenzie Booth's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks.
At the plate, Hope Wilson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Ariel Mullins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Auburn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.
