The Roberto Clemente Charter School Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a rough 66-30 loss at the hands of Tamaqua. Roberto Clemente Charter School lost against Tamaqua in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 54-34 score last time.
Connor Dillon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Tamaqua, scoring 18 points along with six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dillon has scored at least 25% of Tamaqua's points. Another player making a difference was Brady McCabe, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Roberto Clemente Charter School bumped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Tamaqua, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roberto Clemente Charter School will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lincoln Leadership Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Tamaqua will finish 2023 at home by hosting Schuylkill Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Schuylkill Haven presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tamaqua in Pennsylvania (Schuylkill Haven is ranked 126th, while Tamaqua is ranked 377th).
