The Lovejoy Leopards lost against the McKinney North Bulldogs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lovejoy was beaten by McKinney North 73-40. While losing is never fun, Lovejoy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while McKinney North is ranked 33rd).
Kaelyn Hamilton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for McKinney North, scoring 28 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Hamilton has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ciara Harris, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Lovejoy's loss dropped their record down to 21-14. As for McKinney North, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 25-10.
Lovejoy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McKinney North, they will head out on the road to square off against Melissa at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. McKinney North is coming into the game with 16 straight wins on the road, so Melissa is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
