Hauser is 2-7 against Greensburg since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Jets will host the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hauser 2.3, Greensburg 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Hauser's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Saturday's struggle, when Lawrenceburg hitters got past them. The Jets came up short against the Tigers on Saturday, falling 10-2. The matchup marked the Jets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Hauser saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dillion Lambert, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Greensburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over South Dearborn on Monday. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by eight runs or more this season.
Joey Everroad was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Caleb Greiwe was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Greensburg hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive contests.
Greensburg pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Hauser, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hauser has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Greensburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Hauser suffered a grim 10-4 defeat to Greensburg in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Jets have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
