Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dowagiac). They put the hurt on the Berrien Springs Shamrocks with a sharp 23-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Chieftains as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Addie Wilson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Marlie Carpenter was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Hess, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
