Vision hasn't had much luck against Nampa Christian recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Vision will be playing in front of their home fans against Nampa Christian at 5:00 p.m.
Vision is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They came up short against Melba, falling 16-5.
Shaely Vollmer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Nampa Christian entered their tilt with Marsing on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Huskies get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Peyton Shook made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Addison Gray was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 4-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellie Kroes, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.
Nampa Christian's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Vision, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Vision has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Nampa Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Vision might still be hurting after the 12-3 defeat they got from Nampa Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2022. Can Vision avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
