Newman Posts Huge Game in 49-0 Win
Cooper Newman was instrumental in extending Sevier County's winning streak to eight on Friday. Nobody could stop Newman as he threw for 240 yards and five touchdowns while completing 86.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 30 yards. Those 30 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Newman and Sevier County will challenge East Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Smoky Bears got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Hurricanes, probably because Newman had a solid game then too: he threw for 133 yards and three touchdowns. Can he match (or beat) that performance?
