Baseball Recap: King's Academy Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lakeway Christian Academy, King's Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the William Blount Governors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-2 back in March.

King's Academy let Chelton Jones and Jack Hamilton run wild. Jones scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Hamilton went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those three hits gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gensley Ryan, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

King's Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

King's Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for William Blount, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. King's Academy will head out to face off against Christian Academy of Knoxville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for William Blount, they will venture away from home to challenge Heritage at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mountaineers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Governors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
