The biggest upset of the week belonged to Wilby, who took down 85th ranked Watertown, 22-7. Jacob Thomas ran for 207 yards in the win.
Mike Conlan and Jack Briggs provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Kennedy. The connection was good for 78 yards, the longest such play in Naugatuck Valley - Brass this season.
Seymour's dynamic duo of Conlan and Briggs proved tough for the Eagles to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Conlan threw for 177 yards and three touchdowns and Briggs had 92 yards receiving. Christian Thurmond helped Seymour's passing attack out by catching two balls for 50 yards.
Ansonia's JaiQuan McKnight and Andrew Matos have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. McKnight has thrown for 445 yards this season, while Matos, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 11 catches for 372 yards. The Wildcats' Thomas leads the league in rushing yards with 441.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Wolcott takes on second place Seymour. Last week, Wolcott defeated Crosby, while the Wildcats beat Kennedy.
The Eagles were able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating the Bulldogs 47-26. Wolcott came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
