The Parkview Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by West Plains on the road and fell 77-23. Parkview was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-12.
Despite the defeat, Parkview had strong showings from Brooklynn Masten, who scored 14 points along with three steals and two blocks, and Austin Hall, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That was a full 60.9% of Parkview's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Parkview dropped their record down to 1-21 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for West Plains, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Parkview will head out on the road to square off against Bolivar at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Plains, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Central at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 399th, while West Plains is ranked 31st).
