On Wednesday, the Bell Griffins faced the Roosevelt Roughriders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bell was beaten by Roosevelt 62-13. Bell has not had much luck with Roosevelt recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Lamar'sha Wilson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Roosevelt, scoring 28 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Wilson has scored at least 25% of Roosevelt's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Simmons Evony'e, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Bell bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Roosevelt, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bell will square off against Banneker at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Roosevelt, they will head out on the road to face off against Wise at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
