Griffin McKain put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in March on Wednesday. He struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Considering he played a big game the last time he faced off against Oceanside Collegiate Academy back in March of 2024, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock.

McKain and Legion Collegiate Academy will head out to square off against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers got just the result they wanted when they last faced Varsity Opponent thanks in part to McKain: he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.
