Ware Shoals is 0-3 against the Cavaliers since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Ware Shoals Hornets will head out on the road to take on the Christ Church Episcopal Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
On Friday, Ware Shoals came up short against the Blue Flashes and fell 84-76. Even though they lost, Ware Shoals' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.3 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite their defeat, Ware Shoals saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brayden Medlin, who scored 16 points along with five steals, was perhaps the best of all. Jayce Medlin was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven assists.
Meanwhile, Christ Church Episcopal came tearing into Tuesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 81-58 margin over High Point Academy. Christ Church Episcopal has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christ Church Episcopal to victory, but perhaps none more so than D.j. Harvey, who scored 14 points along with five assists. Another player making a difference was Reid Hipp, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Ware Shoals' defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Christ Church Episcopal, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Ware Shoals was taken down by the Cavaliers 92-23 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Ware Shoals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
