The Spackenkill Spartans lost against the Beacon Bulldogs back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Spackenkill was dealt a 54-16 loss at the hands of Beacon. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Spackenkill has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Spackenkill still got an impressive performance from Marlena Delaurentis, who scored six points along with five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Julianna Morris, who scored five points.
Spackenkill bumped their record down to 2-3 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.3 points per game. As for Beacon, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
Spackenkill will be playing at home against Webutuck at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Webutuck is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Beacon, they will head out on the road to face off against Port Richmond at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Port Richmond comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
