Gretna is 2-8 against Norris since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Dragons will host the Titans at 4:30 p.m. The last three games Gretna has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Gretna took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over Gretna East.

Hudson Schwartzkopf looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carson Dicken, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Gretna's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Sullivan, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three match, Norris brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Adams Central a 13-0 shutout on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won six in a row.
Crew Moeller was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Jordan Monroe was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Kaden Fredenburg was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run and three runs.
Norris always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Adams Central only posted an OBP of .263.
Gretna pushed their record up to 9-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Norris, their win bumped their record up to 16-7.
