Hoggard has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Hoggard put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 60-39 margin over New Hanover. That's two games straight that Hoggard has won by exactly 21 points.
Sarah Elgart continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Tristan Shivers was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, South Brunswick's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Brunswick. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South Brunswick in their matchups with West Brunswick: they've now lost five in a row.
Hoggard pushed their record up to 14-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.67 points. As for South Brunswick, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Hoggard against South Brunswick in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 71-7 win. With Hoggard ahead 44-2 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
