Carolina Forest and Loris are an even 4-4-1 against one another since February of 2018, but likely not for long. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carolina Forest's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Loris' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Carolina Forest took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Conway, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers skirted past the Tigers 3-1. Surprisingly, this marked the Panthers' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Kaysen Warehime spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 15 Ks.
On the hitting side, Carolina Forest saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoey Wohlers, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Loris). Everything went their way against Waccamaw on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-3 win. Considering the Lions have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Bellamie Gore was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Gore was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Loris got a massive performance out of Haley Spence, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and four runs. That's the most runs Spence has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kenzie McCoy, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.
Loris kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waccamaw only managed seven hits.
Carolina Forest's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-9-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Loris, they now have a winning record of 11-10-1.
