Basketball Recap: Chamblee Takes a Loss

Chamblee lost against Decatur back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Chamblee Bulldogs took a 66-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Decatur Bulldogs.

Despite the loss, Chamblee still got an impressive performance from Octavius Gresham, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 22 points and five assists. That's the most points Gresham has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Simeon Stephens, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Jason Welborn continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Decatur, going 10 of 18 on his way to 29 points and eight rebounds. With that strong performance, Welborn is now averaging an impressive 16.2 points per game. Bryce Howson was another key player, putting up 13 points along with six assists and six boards.

Chamblee has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. As for Decatur, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.

Chamblee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-69 victory against Miller Grove on the 13th. As for Decatur, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-27 win against Lakeside on the 13th.
