Seagoville is 0-3 against the Pirates since January of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Seagoville Dragons will head out on the road to square off against the Poteet Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Seagoville comes in on three and the Pirates on nine.
Last Tuesday, Seagoville strolled past the Timberwolves with points to spare, taking the game 58-39.
Seagoville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amia West, who scored 17 points. It was the first time this season that West scored 15 or more points. Jai White was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Poteet gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past Conrad 63-20 at home. Given Poteet's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while the Chargers are ranked 1239th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Seagoville is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. As for Poteet, they pushed their record up to 20-11 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Seagoville was taken down by the Pirates 64-25 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Seagoville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
