If the Kermit Yellow Jackets were feeling good off their 56-28 takedown of the Tornillo Coyotes last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Kermit was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 49-48 to the Bucks. It was the first time this season that Kermit let down their fans at home.
Novah Carrasco was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with six rebounds and five steals for Alpine. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Carrasco has scored at least a third of Alpine's points. Another player making a difference was Ali Maroney, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Kermit's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-14. As for Alpine, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-16 record this season.
Kermit will head out on the road to take on the Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alpine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
