In other batting news, Marissa Sedoris and Jolynn Lawyer did most of the damage at the plate: Sedoris went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Lawyer went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. Those three RBI gave Sedoris a new career-high. Addison Jackson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Trinity Lutheran came up short against Milan on Monday, falling 14-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cougars have suffered against the Indians since May 15, 2017.
Mina Croquart was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Clark Branum, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.
