Piedmont Hills hasn't had much luck against Live Oak recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Pirates will take on the Acorns at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Piedmont Hills came out on top against Silver Creek on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run sixth inning. The Pirates blew past the Raiders 12-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Pirates considering their one-run performance the game before.

Alicia Valladarez spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ava Delagrande was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Isabella Paskert, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Piedmont Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Silver Creek only managed four hits.
Meanwhile, Live Oak entered their tilt with Pioneer on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 13-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Acorns considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
The team relied heavily on Eden Svoboda, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Quinn Hulber-Dana was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one triple.
Live Oak's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Piedmont Hills, their record now sits at 17-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Piedmont Hills has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Live Oak struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Piedmont Hills came up short against Live Oak in their previous matchup back in April, falling 6-1. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
