North Caroline and Decatur are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2014, but not for long. The North Caroline Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Decatur Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep alive their perfect six-game seasons.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for North Caroline at home against Bennett as the squad secured a 57-20 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point North Caroline had established a 23 point advantage.
North Caroline's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyson Weber led the charge by rushing for 165 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries. Weber was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Zymear Smith, who rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.
Even though Decatur has not done well against Kent Island recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Decatur strolled past Kent Island with points to spare, taking the game 33-15.
Decatur relied on the efforts of Careen Bolden, who picked up 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Brycen Coleman, who threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt.
North Caroline's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-0. They've been dominating across those games too: they took their wins by an average of 35.33 points. As for Decatur, their victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-0.
North Caroline ended up a good deal behind Decatur in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, losing 43-27. Can North Caroline avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
