Sky View has gone a perfect 3-0 against Juan Diego Catholic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bobcats will take on the Soaring Eagle at 1:00 p.m. Sky View has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with five straight defeats, while Juan Diego Catholic will come in with three straight victories.
Sky View came up short against Box Elder on Wednesday, falling 7-1.
Meanwhile, Juan Diego Catholic made easy work of East on Tuesday and carried off a 19-4 win. Fans of the Soaring Eagle have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Ellie Palmer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Palmer was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Juan Diego Catholic let Mattie Montoya and Sarah Fiore run wild. Montoya went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs, while Fiore went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Montoya has been hot, having posted three or more hits the last seven times she's played. Oaklee Thomas was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Juan Diego Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .515 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Juan Diego Catholic's record is now 3-0. As for Sky View, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Sky View came out on top in a nail-biter against Juan Diego Catholic when the teams last played back in March of 2025, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
