The Rosewood Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Neuse Charter Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rosewood will be strutting in after a victory while Neuse Charter will be coming in after a defeat.
Rosewood posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 58-17 win over Union at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Rosewood.
It was another big night for Julius Coltrane, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last four games he's played. Cam Medlin was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Neuse Charter came up short against Hobbton on Friday and fell 58-45.
Jayvin Bradley put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 28 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That was a full 62.2% of Neuse Charter's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Atkinson, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Rosewood now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Neuse Charter, they bumped their record down to 5-15 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's contest: Rosewood have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4.8 threes per game. It's a different story for Neuse Charter, though, as they've been averaging only 7 threes per game. Given Rosewood's sizeable advantage in that area, Neuse Charter will need to find a way to close that gap.
Rosewood took their victory against Neuse Charter in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 60-38. Will Rosewood repeat their success, or does Neuse Charter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
