Tuscola is on a three-game streak of home wins, while West Henderson is on a nine-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tuscola Mountaineers will take on the West Henderson Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Tuscola beat Smoky Mountain 34-21.
Meanwhile, West Henderson can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 41-0 win over Franklin. Given West Henderson's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Franklin is ranked 249th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carson Dimsdale was his usual excellent self, rushing for 170 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Dimsdale is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Young, who threw for 101 yards and two touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes.
Their wins bumped Tuscola to 5-4 and West Henderson to 9-0.
Tuscola was taken down by West Henderson 55-7 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will Tuscola have more luck at home instead of on the road?
