We've got a battle between Panthers coming up. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Somerset Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over American.

Caitlyn Diaz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Amber Munoz, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Kelsey Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Palmetto, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Ferguson on Tuesday as Palmetto made off with an 8-1 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Lauren Falls was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Falls was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one triple.
In other batting news, Madeleine Baldwin was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Alicia Thomason, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Palmetto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ferguson only posted an OBP of .300.
Somerset Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4-1 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 10.75 hits in those games compared to only 5.5 in the others. Palmetto's record now sits at 4-9.
Palmetto's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Somerset Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Palmetto, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Somerset Academy keep running through batters, or will Palmetto buck the trend?
