Downingtown East's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Kennett as they made off with a 14-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Blue Demons: they've now won five in a row.

The team relied heavily on Lucia Giuliano, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hailey Long, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Downingtown East always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
East came out on top against Kennett on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Vikings blew past the Blue Demons 12-4. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 21, 2021, but that streak is no more.
Ferri Ava spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, East got a massive performance out of Cross Ava, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Catanach Isabel also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Downingtown East pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for East, their record is now 7-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Downingtown East hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like East struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Downingtown East came out on top in a nail-biter against East in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
