Danielle Basciano, a senior setter for Carmel High School in Carmel, N.Y., has been named the MaxPreps/AVCA New York High School volleyball Player of the Week.
Basciano earned the distinction after turning in an impressive week last week, in addition to helping her Rams to a 15-1 record thus far in the season, which includes 15 consecutive victories to date, after dropping their first match of the season.
She chalked up 65 assists in ten games played last week, for a 6.5 assists per game average. In addition, Basciano fired in eight service aces and added five kills, while digging up 33 balls for a 3.3 digs per game average.
Carmel is coached by Amy Carinci.
