Softball Recap: River Ridge Finds Home Field Redemption Against North Thurston

There's no place like home for River Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the North Thurston Rams on Monday. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by ten runs or more this season.

Lana Trinidad was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Eva Lynch, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

River Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Thurston only posted an OBP of .360.

River Ridge pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for North Thurston, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, River Ridge will square off against Peninsula at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks are facing the Seahawks at the right time seeing as the Seahawks are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for North Thurston, they will welcome Bellarmine Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.57 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
