The Calvert Cavaliers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. The match between Calvert and Northern wasn't particularly close, with Calvert falling 67-51. Calvert has not had much luck with Northern recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
It was another big night for Emmanuel Powell, who scored 25 points along with four steals for Northern. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Powell has scored all season. Will Ellis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Calvert dropped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Northern, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Great Mills the next time they take the court. Northern will host Great Mills at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Calvert will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
