The LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 64-54 win over Island Coast. That's another feather in the cap for LaBelle, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
It was another big night for Alan King jr, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Clifford Love, who scored 12 points.
Island Coast's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jose Bido, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Bido hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Izaiah Bacchus was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
LaBelle's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-14. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Island Coast, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
LaBelle will take on Aubrey Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. LaBelle knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Aubrey Rogers likes a good challenge. As for Island Coast, they will square off against Dunbar at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Dunbar's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
