The Mainland Buccaneers will be playing at home against the Rockledge Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mainland walked away with it. They breezed by Satellite at home to the tune of 62-0. Mainland might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven games by 22 points or more this season.
Among those leading the charge was Dennis Murray jr., who threw for 146 yards and three touchdowns. Corey Hill was another key contributor, rushing for 41 yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mainland's defense and their ten sacks. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Jensen Beach typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday Rockledge proved too difficult a challenge. Rockledge came out on top in a nail-biter against Jensen Beach and snuck past 19-16. The victory was just what Rockledge needed coming off of a 26-0 defeat in their prior game.
The critical scores for Rockledge came from Jamarcus Giscombe and Lorenzo Bell jr.
Mainland's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Rockledge, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Mainland came out on top in a nail-biter against Rockledge in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, sneaking past 16-14. Will Mainland repeat their success, or does Rockledge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
